Angie’s Models & Talent International 2010 Gala Show Case

Over the weekend I had the privilege of attending Angie’s Models & Talent International 2010 Gala Show Case. Angie’s Models is one of the biggest modeling agency here in Ottawa. She discovered The Notebook hottie Ryan Gosling when he was 14 living in Cornwall, a small town about 2 hours from Ottawa.

The show was at the Canadian War Museum (explaining why there are tanks in the background) and consisted of various merchants and designers. There were showcases from companies such as Gap kids, The Bay, Bluenotes to independent designers. Some of the collections that caught my eyes were Amber Watkins, Demu Label, Stella & Dot, Sylvery Gray, and Anastasia Lomonova. But the main purpose of the show is to showcase the models to local and international scouts. So of course, all the models looked great and overall Angie definitely put on an amazing show.

Modeling Since Age: 15

How discovered: Audition at Angie’s!

Awkward Modeling Moment: Backstage at Ottawa Fashion Week, I was changing into my next outfit when I noticed a camera crew filming the backstage with me topless.

Most Embarrassing Runway Mishap: Once, a designer made me wear a completely see-through top! I had nothing on underneath. What made it really awkward was that my dad and guy friends were in the audience.

Most Bizarre Modeling Experience: In Milan, while doing a showroom for Frankie Morello, I walked into the changing room and found another model sleeping on the floor.

Favorite things: I love many things, and among them are: Reading, History, Astronomy, Traveling, Modeling, Video Games, and Food.

Favorite music, band: I love a variety of music, however some of my favourites would have to be Bryan Adams, Alanis Morissette, Blink-182 and Led Zeppelin.

Favorite designers/models: My favourite model would have to be Gemma Ward, and my favourite designer is Manish Arora.

Favorite foods: Chocolate, fruit, red peppers, and anything pasta.

Hobbies: I love reading, writing, modeling, traveling, challenging hard math problems, playing the flute, and swimming.

Style after work and at play: I like to always dress up and look my best, whether I’m working or at play. :) I like creating my own style and wearing things that are very different.

Movie you want to see next: Alice in Wonderland.

Most Embarrassing song on your iPod: It would probably have to be the whole Lion King Soundtrack haha.

Dreams and Goals: I hope to start traveling this summer and to appear in at least a few magazines. I also hope to go to Queen’s University for Commerce and to become successful in whatever I choose to do in life :) But my most important goal in life is to be happy and to treat others the way I would want to be treated.

About Angie’s - your agency/booker: Angie has always been there for me since I started modeling at age 15, and she has made it an easier transition for me from being an ordinary teenager to becoming an international model. She has been really great to me as well as supportive and I am very thankful for that.
